Principles of Gender-Based Analysis

Gender-based analysis recognizes that issues differentially affect men and women.  It recognizes social and economic contexts and highlights different experiences of diverse groups.  This can be accomplished by integrating questions about gender discussion gender implications.

Research as Empowerment

Research can be partly used as a means to empower disenfranchised or marginalized groups.  Using research as empowerment seeks an analysis of power throughout the research, aims to address power imbalances and respects difference and diversity.
